Delaware County Sheriff’s Deputy Joe Krupa will discuss some of the issues he’s dealt with as the department’s public information officer and social media manager and offer suggestions and ideas for best practices that could work for you in similar situations.

Joe Krupa is a deputy sheriff with the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office and currently serves as the department’s public information officer and social media manager. He is a graduate of Ball State University where he studied television production, photojournalism and public relations. Joe has worked as a staff photographer for TheStarPress and has freelanced for such media outlets as Speedvision, ESPN, WNDY, Reuters and People Magazine. He is the recipient of numerous photojournalism awards and a regional Emmy nomination for his work. Joe is co-owner of the Police Social Media Academy offering specialized training to law enforcement and public safety agencies to help them to better engage with their communities through the optimized use of social media.
